From a Guide to Romania

Crisana

Although a relatively small region, Crisana is well-known for its beautiful sceneries: amazing mountain, hill and plain landscapes greet you along the three rivers which gave the region its name, Crisul Alb (The White Cris), Crisul Negru (The Black Cris) and Crisul Repede (The Fast Cris).
The Bihor Mountains, situated in the southeast of Bihor County, are particularly interesting for hiking and climbing, due to the spectacular forms of the Bihor, Vladeasa, Codru Moma, Piatra Craiului and Plopis peaks, which rise to heights of 1000 to 1850 m and are home to numerous abysses, ravines, caves, glaciers and limestone structures.
